You'd think if one started with "nothing but ghosts" and then subtracted the ghosts, there would be left nothing, but in fact there's gardening and eating and a summer job and the library and a crush. So, normal life, basically. Add a small town "mystery" (i.e. nosiness) for color.

The prose was good if a bit too self-consciously writers'-workshop-ish for my taste.
